I am an only child. I have no brothers and sisters which is a shame because i think you learn alot about relationships from your siblings. I grew up used to things being done my way and with no teasing or fighting, or just plain bugging.
Mike is the youngest of 4. Having three older brothers means that he is very used to and very good at bugging, teasing and torturing others.
Put us together and what do you get? A wife who whines alot! He is constantly poking at me, teasing or trying to gross me out. Very, very reminiscent of junior high if you ask me but guys never really grow up anyway so what do I expect?
The whining was never very effective. If anything it seemed to spur him on to greater heights of bugging just to see how much of a reaction he could get out of me. I told you it was very grade school behaviour.
However, let the heavens open and the angles sing, for I have discovered a secret weapon thanks to TLC's show A Baby Story. Mike walked in the room last week as I watching a woman give birth. He was mortified!
Now whenever he starts to bug, I just turn to him and say in my sweetest voice "I am sorry honey, I didn't realize that you wanted to talk about the changes a woman's cervix undergoes during childbirth". At first i would have to start actually talking about the cervix but now I just have to say the above and he starts to behave right away.
I am hoping it will be like most training programs, when i see the undesired behaviour i will just say "Cervix" and the behaviour will stop.
I love my new found power.
Triumphant return

Too funny! Men are whimps when it comes to things like that.
On the way home today, my husband purposely annoyed the crap out of me for 5 hours straight! He drove in the center of two lanes, flicked cold water on me, stuck a wet finger in my ear, made water sounds when I had to pee, asked me if I was sleeping the minute I fell asleep, twice!, etc. He was way worse then the kids. And Mexico doesn't have Dr. Pepper (??) and he brought it up about 4 million times, just to rub it in. I'll have to try your idea and see if it works...I'm betting it does.
I TOO am an only.. I feel I missed out on so much when my kid fight I think WHAT THE HELL YOUR SUPPOSE TO LOVE HAVING EACHOTHER! guess that is wrong.....
Its okay honey, what makes me so good at what I do, both at work and the implementation of my buggery skills, is the fact that I can adapt and overcome. Bring it on! I have been practicing!
