Round One

It's that time of year again. Sockmadness!

The first pattern came out last Thursday when we were at Mackenzie's hockey tournament. I started the first sock but between hockey and a sinus headache my heart wasn't really in it. I finished the first sock Sunday evening and decided to check and see how many people were finished. People must be knitting really, really slow or are just extremely busy cause the first round was no where close to be being done. My competitive side kicked in and I finished the second sock in just over a day.

The two socks are knit with two different yarns because after finishing the first I realized I didn't have enough to finish the second. The pink was first and the purple was second. I prefer the second.

Which do you prefer?

Ice Storm

Yesterday schools were canceled again (possibly the ninth time? I've lost track) this time due to ice. It changed to rain by midafternoon but the layer of ice coating everything was pretty cool while it lasted. It has dropped to below freezing again today but it is March and I remain hopeful that winter will come to an end, someday.

We went to H&R Block and had our taxes done today. Depressing. Even more depressing than our never ending winter.

Anyone have some good/happy news they want to share? I really need to hear some. Please????
