Relief

I just heard from the cardiologist. Mackenzie's heart is stable and they will re-evaluate the need for a pacemaker next year at his yearly cardiology check-up.

Trying to catch up

I have fallen behind on the tour of homes, last week was dining rooms, which I am lacking but the week before was guest bedrooms. Since I have a guest room here you go:

It is plain and boring like the rest of the house. I really need to get my butt in gear and start decorating!

Update

Sorry I haven't been around in awhile, it has been a busy few weeks. Mike was home this last week and Megan and Mack both celebrated birthdays. My babies are getting older, sigh. Daisy dog got sick about two weeks ago, cancer, and had to be put to sleep last Thursday. She was 9 and it just plain sucked. There are no other words for it. Yesterday we had a social worker out for a visit, we are thinking of starting to do foster care again.

Hmmmm, I think that's it, time to go see what y'all have been up to:)

Living rooms

Today Kelly's tour of homes is taking us to the living room. I am a little frustrated as blogger only allows you to upload five pictures at a time so unfortunately the pics are not in the order I would like them and I have lost patience with trying to get them in the right order. So without further ado here is my living room.

I LOVE my rug but the animals wont stay off of it. It is always full of fur and the cats scratch on it. Plus the dogs have been to known to throw up on it. I want to get a cheap rug for in here and move this rug to the master bedroom where it will be safer.

You will see in most pictures that we need artwork still for this room. This is looking toward the entrance to the kitchen.

Here I am standing at the window looking toward the front entry. The whole house was painted bright yellow when we moved in. We painted the living room before Christmas and next is the front entry and main hall. I have nothing against yellow but it is a bit much in every single room.

Here I am standing at the front entry looking into the living room. I LOVE my light fixture, it is on a dimmer so I can turn it low and it looks like candles.

The metal pieces on either side of the entry are the first bits of artwork on the walls, now I just need some paintings for over the sofas.

Ooops, I think we have seen this pic before:)

My fireplace! I love having a fireplace in the living room.

Okay, next is the basement family room. It is a full walkout basement so it is nice and bright.

The wood stove, which is the back up if the power ever goes, which it never did this past winter.

The room is just a mishmash of furniture and stuff.

The T.V. Ooooops, you can see where we stopped painting in this room.

The sliding glass doors leading to the backyard.

And there you go, our living room and family room. Now head on over to Kelly's to see everyone else's homes!

My Baby

He got hooked up yesterday afternoon and we go back today after school to get disconnected. Then we just wait for the cardiologist to decide what we do next. Praying that he decides that we can wait another year.

I didn't forget:)

You probably thought I forgot all about my little sock contest, but I didn't, I was just being lazy, or trying to heighten the anticipation. Okay, I was just being lazy:)

But this morning the random number generator spoke in all its wisdom and the winner is Krazymom. And no, I am not being lazy, she has a private blog so there is no point in linking to her. So Congratulations, may they keep your feet warm all next winter!

The Kitchen

Kelly is hosting a Show Us Where You Live Friday tour of homes. This week it is the kitchen. I am a day late but since I never showed you very many pics of the new house after we moved last fall I thought I would take part.

So here we go, my kitchen!

It is nice and big but there are a few things I would love to change except for that small necessity, money.

It needs window coverings which I will have to do and soon. It is south facing and by late afternoon it is so unbearably hot in there. Not very conducive to cooking:)

I would like to darken up the cabinets. When I was looking through the other homes linked on Kelly's blog I seen one where the person repainted their cabinets. It looked awesome! I would love to get brave enough to try that.

I'm not crazy about the light fixtures and that is an inexpensive fix. Maybe in the fall........

Oh, my, the blue counter tops. What can I really say about them? Who installs blue counter tops in a new home? They are horrendous but definitely no money in the budget to replace those anytime soon. Granite would be gorgeous there!

The cleanest my kitchen has been in a long time. I tidied just for you!

There you go, the room where I pretend to cook!

Come back next week and we will do another room!

Worried

Very scary night as I worried about friends and family. Right now over a thousand people have been evacuated fromt their homes. Hopefully this fire will get under control soon.
